Selingan Island (Turtle Island)

Selingan Island—also known as Turtle Island—is a sanctuary dedicated to the protection and conservation of endangered sea turtles. As part of the Turtle Islands Park, this tranquil island is one of the few places in the world where visitors can witness the rare and magical experience of green and hawksbill turtles coming ashore to nest.

Each evening, under the cover of darkness, female turtles emerge from the sea to lay their eggs on the sandy beaches. Guided by park rangers, visitors have the opportunity to observe the nesting process, the collection of eggs for incubation, and the release of hatchlings back into the ocean—a moving and unforgettable conservation experience.

The island also features a small visitor center with educational exhibits about sea turtle biology and conservation efforts.
